ELKE HOOK Dramatic Soprano

Elke’s career highlights have included performances alongside diva Joan Carden AO OBE with whom she is now studying, for ex-Prime Minister John Howard, for the Archbishop of Canterbury and in front of an Australia Day audience of over 10,000 people. Elke’s outstanding abilities as a vocalist and musician have been widely recognised and appreciated by members of the arts fraternity. She is currently working with esteemed conductor, composer and vocal specialist Christopher Bowen as a soloist with the Central Coast Chorale and in Sydney as soloist with the Sydney University Graduate Choir. Her recent performances include Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and as soprano soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass, John Rutter’s Mass of the Children, Saint Saëns Christmas Oratorio and Donald Hollier’s Funeral Music which was commissioned by the Sydney University Graduate Choir in Memoriam of Joan Whittaker. Elke was also soloist in Mendelssohn’s Elijah with the Sydney University Graduate Choir and following this the Chorale’s performance of Handel’s Dettingen Te Deum. Her most recent performance was as soloist in Purcell’s Opera Dido & Aeneas with the Central Coast Chorale and Sydney University Graduate Chamber Choir.

JACQUI

 

JACQUI BINETSKY Mezzo Soprano

Jacqui’s choral experience includes such highlights as participation in an International Choir at Pfizer’s 150th anniversary celebrations including a live broadcast from the Lincoln Centre before an audience of 2000; participation in the Proms Series 2002 in the Royal Albert Hall with Sir Simon Rattle; featuring in the semi-chorus of Mendelssohn’s Elijah at the Sydney Opera House. She has also sung the solo part of ‘Eve’ in Haydn's Creation in a performance with the Central Coast Chorale and Northern Rivers Choral Society in Bellingen. In 2008, Jacqui sang with the Sydney Philharmonia in Perth in February and with the Symphonic Choir for Britten's War Requiem, for the Perth Music Festival. She also sang in Bach's St Matthew Passion with the Chamber Choir and late 2008 was one of 30 in the Chamber Choir who went to Hobart by invitation to perform and record Mendelssohn's Lobegesang with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra under Sebastian Lang-Lessing. She toured with the Sydney Philharmonia, where they encored their 2002 Proms Series by opening the season with Mahler's 8th symphony; sang Evensong in Westminster Abbey; Vaughn-Williams' Mass in G Min in St Paul's Cathedral; and concluded with a concert in Australia House. She is also a regular chorister and soloist with the Central Coast Chorale.

JILL EREM Soprano

Jill Erem gained the Diploma of Music in Singing from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. During that time she was chosen to have lessons with Hans Hotter and was in a Master Class with Gerard Souzay. She was in the Conservatorium Opera School for a further two years. She pursued a career teaching singing in the Sydney CBD. She has performed with a number of orchestras in NSW. Twenty one years ago she moved to the Central Coast and she joined the Central Coast Chorale in order to pursue her interest in the performance of classical music.

 

 

KAINE

KAINE HAYWARD Tenor

Kaine is currently studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music on scholarship, under the tutelage of Barry Ryan. He obtained is B Mus from the Australian Institute of Music in 2008, studying under Lilia Sile. The recipient of numerous scholarships, Kaine is a regular artist at concerts organised by the Friends of Opera Inc. (Gold Coast, QLD). In 2009, he has performed Schumann's song cycle Dichterliebe twice (Sydney and the Gold Coast) with pianist Chad Vindin, contributed to recordings of new vocal works by Mellos and Game-Lopata and performed in the inaugural performance of the Sydney Lyric Opera (Spoletta, Tosca). In early December 2009, Kaine sang the tenor soloist in Handel's Messiah for SSCS, and the tenor in Charpentier's Te Deum H.146, Handel's Dettingen Te Deum for the Sydney University Graduate Choir and several solo concerts in Queensland for the Summer and Winter of 2010. When not singing Kaine works as a piano accompanist.
